Weymouth

Web design in Weymouth

Weymouth is a seasonal economy with a year-round business underneath it. The website has to work on a crowded beach in August, when the mobile signal is poor and the decision is being made in ninety seconds.

Weymouth's commercial life is dominated by tourism: hotels, guest houses, holiday lets, cafés, restaurants and attractions along the beach and the harbour. Around that sits a working town of trades, marine services, care providers and small manufacturers, plus Portland's port and industrial estate. The two economies need different websites, and both need to load quickly on a phone.

Seasonality changes the job. From May to September the site is a booking and information machine; from October to April it is a shop window for next year and a way to sell gift vouchers, off-season breaks and local services. A site that cannot be updated between those modes is a site that is wrong for half the year.

What we build

For Weymouth businesses

Hotels and holiday lets

Direct bookings, availability, seasonal rates and photography that loads before the guest gives up.

Hospitality websites

Restaurants, cafés and pubs

Menus that stay current, allergen information, reservations and a map that works.

Restaurant websites

Trades and marine services

Service areas, emergency call-out information, before-and-after work and quote forms.

Trade websites

Year-round services

Care, professional services and retail that need to be found outside the tourist season.

Small business websites

Proof

The seasonal test

The useful question for a Weymouth site is not “does it look good in the office?” but “does it work on the beach in August?”. We test on a throttled mobile connection, with images that are sized for the device, and a booking flow that does not lose the guest at the payment step.

Our own site and the reference builds are published and inspectable. Client stories appear only with permission. If you run a hospitality business and want to see how we approach direct booking, ask — we will show you the pattern even where we cannot name the client.

Questions

The things people ask first

Can we take direct bookings without a big commission?

Yes, within the limits of your booking engine. We can embed an engine, build an enquiry flow, or link to a platform. The right answer depends on volume and how much you want to manage.

How do we handle seasonal opening hours?

Hours, menus and offers live in editable content, so you can change them without a developer. We will show you the workflow at handover.

Will the site be fast enough on a phone at the beach?

That is the design target. We test on a throttled mobile profile, cap image weight and avoid hero video. We will show you the measurements before launch.

How much does a website cost in Weymouth?

£495 for a landing page, £995 for five pages and £1,495 for ten, plus VAT. Booking integrations are usually a Tier 4 project.
