Hosting that comes with someone who answers
A website is not finished on launch day. Certificates expire, dependencies need patching, and disks fill up. Our care plans cover the unglamorous maintenance so nobody has to remember it.
Hosting is included with every care plan; we do not sell an unmanaged server and wish you luck. Sites run on DigitalOcean in London, behind nginx, with TLS, a firewall and a deployment process that has been used on this site and every client site we run.
The point of a care plan is not the disk space. It is that someone is responsible: for the certificate, for the backup restore that has actually been tested, for the plugin or dependency that needs a security patch, and for the call when a page stops working on a Friday afternoon.

What the plan actually covers
- TLS certificatesIssued, renewed and monitored. No expiry surprises.
- Daily backupsEncrypted, retained, and restore-tested rather than assumed.
- Uptime monitoringA check every minute from outside the server, with an alert to a person.
- Security updatesOperating system, runtime and dependency patches applied on a schedule.
- Performance checksA weekly page speed and error check, with a fix if something regresses.
- Small content changesA reasonable allowance each month for text, image and opening-hours changes.

What is a separate project
- New pages and featuresQuoted separately, because they are build work rather than maintenance.
- Copywriting and photographyAvailable, but scoped and priced on its own.
- Third-party licence feesBooking engines, payment providers and stock libraries are paid by you, to the supplier.
- Emergency work caused by an unapproved changeWe will fix it, but it is not covered by the monthly fee.
Questions
The things people ask first
Do we have to host with you?
No. You can take the code and host it anywhere. We will document the build and the deployment. Most clients stay because the care plan is useful, not because they are trapped.
Where is the site hosted?
DigitalOcean's London region, with data stored in the UK. Backups are encrypted and held in the same region.
What happens if we leave?
You get the repository, the deployment instructions and a export of any content. The domain and accounts are already in your name. There is no exit fee.
Is there a minimum term?
Care plans run monthly. We ask for a month's notice so we can hand over cleanly. Website builds are milestone-based, with a deposit and a final payment on launch.
