Performance
LCP, INP and CLS on a throttled mobile profile; page weight; third-party origins; render-blocking resources; image and font handling.
Website audit
Most audits are a 90-page PDF generated by a tool. Ours is a short, ordered list: what is broken, who it affects, what it will take to fix, and what to leave alone.
An audit is useful when you suspect the site is costing you work but cannot tell where. It is not useful as a sales document designed to justify a rebuild. We will tell you if a refresh, a speed fix or a single page would solve the problem, even when a rebuild would be more profitable for us.
The work covers five areas: performance, search, accessibility, content and conversion. Each finding is reproduced with the URL, the element and the device or input method affected. The output is ordered by impact and effort, with an estimate for each fix.
Scope
LCP, INP and CLS on a throttled mobile profile; page weight; third-party origins; render-blocking resources; image and font handling.
Indexation, titles and descriptions, canonicals, internal links, sitemap, robots, structured data, duplicate content and redirect chains.
Keyboard navigation, focus states, contrast, form labels, heading structure, alt text, reduced motion and zoom at 200%.
Whether each page answers the query it targets, whether the proof is credible, and whether the calls to action are where a buyer needs them.
Form friction, phone visibility, response promises, trust signals and the mobile journey from landing to enquiry.
Whether analytics, Search Console and conversion tracking are installed and telling the truth.
Deliverables
Price
The audit is a fixed fee agreed before we start. Most small business sites take one to two working days. A larger site, a booking journey or an ecommerce checkout takes longer and is quoted accordingly.
If the audit leads to a build or a care plan with us, the audit fee is credited against the first invoice. If it does not, you keep the report and the list.
Questions
Read-only access to Search Console and analytics helps a great deal, but it is not essential. We can audit the public site and say what cannot be assessed without data.
It includes SEO, but it is broader. A pure SEO audit would spend more time on keywords, links and competitors. Tell us which decision you are trying to make and we will weight it accordingly.
We will tell you if a rebuild is the right answer, and we will also tell you if it is not. The report includes the cheaper option where one exists.
One to two working days for a small site, up to a week for a larger one. The walkthrough is usually within a few days of the report.
Tell us what you are trying to achieve. We will tell you honestly whether we can help, what it would take, and roughly what it would cost — before anyone signs anything.
