Pricing

Web design prices, published

Most agencies hide their prices and call it a discovery process. We publish ours because it saves everyone a meeting. The scope is written down before you pay anything, and the code is yours at the end.

Website tiers

Four tiers. One set of standards.

All prices exclude VAT. Every tier includes design, hand-built code, performance and accessibility foundations, search basics and handover.

Clarity

What every tier includes

Design for the business rather than a theme with a logo dropped in. Semantic, hand-written HTML and CSS. A performance budget for page weight, LCP and layout shift. Accessible foundations: real headings, labelled fields, visible focus and keyboard navigation. Unique titles and descriptions, canonicals, a sitemap, robots and structured data. A contact form that reaches a person, and a handover that leaves you owning the repository, domain and accounts.

Every build also includes thirty days of post-launch fixes at no extra cost. That is not a warranty against new work; it is the period where the real world finds the things a test environment does not.

Care plans

Hosting and care

Hosting is bundled with care; we do not sell an unmanaged server. Prices exclude VAT.

PlanMonthlyIncluded
Basic£15–£25UK hosting, TLS, daily backups, uptime monitoring, security updates, email support
Stepped up£35–£49Everything in Basic, more computing headroom, priority response, quarterly review call
CustomQuotedMultiple sites, integrations, high traffic or a bespoke support arrangement

Scope

What is not included

Photography, unless we have agreed a shoot. Copywriting beyond the tier allowance. Paid media. Third-party licence fees, such as booking engines, payment providers or stock libraries — those are paid by you, to the supplier. Ongoing content and local SEO beyond the initial setup. New pages and features after launch, which are quoted separately.

We will always tell you when a request falls outside the scope rather than invoicing a surprise. The care plan includes a monthly allowance for small changes; anything larger gets a written price first.

How it compares

The market, plainly

  • UK local agency median for five pagesAround £949, with a clearing price near £999. Our Tier 2 sits at that clearing price, not below it.
  • Freelance medianAround £513. A freelancer can be excellent value; the trade-off is usually capacity and cover.
  • Premium studio medianAround £2,950. You are buying a team, a process and a brand. Not every business needs that.
  • UK care plan medianAround £49 a month. Our £15–£25 entry plan is deliberately below it, because the infrastructure is lean.

Questions

The things people ask first

Are these prices really fixed?

For the defined tiers, yes. If the scope changes — extra pages, a booking engine, a content migration — we will quote the difference before doing the work. The number does not move because a project took longer than we expected.

Why is Tier 2 more than a freelancer?

You are paying for a documented process, a performance and accessibility standard, a written handover and someone who is still there in year two. If price is the only criterion, a good freelancer is a reasonable choice.

Do you charge for the initial meeting?

No. The first conversation is free. If you need a written blueprint before committing, that is a small fixed fee and it is credited against the build if you proceed.

Can we pay in instalments?

Yes. The standard terms are 50% on acceptance and 50% on launch. Pay monthly spreads the whole cost over twelve months — see the pay monthly page.

Do you offer discounts for charities?

Yes, for Dorset charities and community organisations. Tell us the situation and we will quote something sensible. We would rather do that than publish a percentage that does not fit.

Let’s find out whether technology is the answer

Tell us what you are trying to achieve. We will tell you honestly whether we can help, what it would take, and roughly what it would cost — before anyone signs anything.
